Terms & Conditions for Pearl Stringing and Jewellery Repair Services and Products provided by Anja Moehler (String My Pearls)

  1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions govern the provision of pearl stringing and jewellery repair services as well as products by Anja Moehler and String My Pearls (“we”, “us”, or “our”) to our clients (“you”, “your”, or “yours”). By requesting our services and products, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

  1. Services and Scope

    We offer a variety of pearl stringing and jewellery repair and educational services,  including:
  • Pearl re-/stringing and knotting
  • Jewellery repair and redesign
  • Advice on jewellery design & care for Pearls
  • Custom pearl and jewellery design
  • Finished Pearl jewellery
  • Individual and group workshops and training for Pearl stringing, in person and online
  • Stringing Kits
  • Sourcing loose Pearl strands, single or pairs of Pearls

We reserve the right to refuse any service request at our discretion, depending on the feasibility, materials, costs, or potential damage involved.

  1. Estimates and Quotes

For repairs requiring an estimate, we will thoroughly examine the piece and provide a written estimate detailing the proposed work, estimated timeframe, and associated costs. This estimate is not a guarantee and may be subject to change if unforeseen circumstances arise during the repair process. A quote provided by us will be valid for 30 days. After that period we reserve the right to refuse to proceed work under the previously given quote and conditions.

Our price list for Stringing services can be sent out to you via email. As we provide our services ot both, the general public as well as the jewellery trade, we will not disclose our trade’s prices on our website. Prices vary upon scope of proposed work.

  1. Client Responsibilities (repair and restringing services)
  • You are responsible for providing accurate information about the jewellery, including any known damage, allergies, or special requirements.
  • You are responsible for delivering the jewellery to us in person or via insured mail.
  • You are responsible for any import/export duties or taxes applicable to the jewellery.
  • You understand that some repairs may not be possible due to the nature of the materials or age of the piece.
  1. Fees and Payment
  • Our fees are based on the complexity of the work, materials used, and time involved.
  • Payment is due in full and immediately upon completion of the work for first time clients. For existing clientele payment is due within 5 working days, respectively 7 weekdays, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • We accept payment by bank transfer, in cash, or via paypal. Payment details will be provided on the invoice and/ or via email
  1. Liability and Warranty
  • We take every precaution to handle your jewellery with the utmost care and expertise. However, we cannot guarantee the outcome of any repair due to the inherent nature of the materials and potential hidden damage.
  • We offer a 12 months warranty on workmanship for repairs. This warranty covers defects in our work but does not extend to pre-existing damage, lost stones, or normal wear and tear.
  • We are not liable for any loss or damage to the jewellery beyond the value of the repair itself.
  • We recommend you insure your jewellery separately.
  1. Lost or Damaged Jewellery
  • We take all reasonable precautions to secure your jewellery. However, we are not responsible for loss or damage due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, theft, or shipping accidents.
  • If your jewellery is lost or damaged in our care, we will work with you to recover or repair the piece to the best of our ability. However, our liability will be limited to the value of the repair itself.
  1. Intellectual Property

Any custom designs or intellectual property created by us remain our property unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Right of Retention:We reserve the right to retain possession of the provided pieces until payment is received in full. This is in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 (if applicable to your business). Under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, we use our right to charge 8% + the Bank of England base rate on overdue invoices of 0.5%, from the day after the due date for B2B transactions. This fee will be applied to any overdue payment.
  1. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms & Conditions will be settled through amicable negotiation and mediation if possible. If an agreement cannot be reached, the dispute will be subject to the laws of England and Wales and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

  1. Entire Agreement

These Terms & Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and us and supersede any prior or contemporaneous communications, representations, or agreements, whether oral or written.

  1. Modification

We reserve the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time by posting the amended version on our website. Your continued use of our services after such modifications confirms your acceptance of the revised terms.
